ROVs play a vital role in military operations (e.g., torpedo and mine recovery), rescue operations (e.g., locating historic shipwrecks, such as the RMS Titanic), and critical oil and gas operations. In recent years, the range of vehicles and minimizing the need for human operators have increased due to research efforts.
